World Bank’s response to the reports GPCL
submitted on the PPR of 3 Bank financed
projects in Iran. Through an international
competitive process, the Bank had
commissioned GPCL to conduct a PPR of
3 Bank financed projects in the Water Supply
and Sanitation Sector spread across 5 cities in
Iran. GPCL reviewed about 75 ‘Post Review’
contracts and submitted project-wise /
city-wise reports outlining findings and
recommendations for improvements.

Based on the best technical proposal submitted by GPCL amongst those received from international firms, Bam Reconstruction Office, Tehran, appointed GPCL as the Procurement Advisory Service Consultant for coordination and assistance to management of all procurement activities of Goods/Works, and Services contracts for the World Bank financed Bam Earthquake Emergency Reconstruction Project. The assignment, valued over US $ 1 million, to be executed over a period of 2 years, involves providing on-the-job training and continuous advice to the procurement staff. GPCL’s performance has received appreciation from the World Bank who have expressed their satisfaction by stating that “GPCL’s output is one of the best evaluation reports seen by the Bank”.
